Gbenga Hashim Constructs Asphalt Road in Ifedolapo Community, Ilorin* – as Former NGF Chairman, Gov. Lamido Commission Road

Businessman and former presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has constructed and commissioned a newly built 1Km asphalt road in Ifedolapo community, located in the Pipeline area of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The commissioning ceremony was led by former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Victor Obong Attah, alongside former Governor of Jigawa State and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alhaji Sule Lamido.

The event drew a distinguished gathering of political and business leaders from across the country, including former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Asimiyu Alarape; Chairman of Sobi FM, Mallam Lukman Mustapha; former Kwara State Commissioner for Water and Women Affairs, Dr. Mopelola Abdulmalik Bashir; and former Commissioner for Housing, Akaje Ibrahim, among others.

In his remarks, Dr. Olawepo-Hashim underscored the significance of private sector involvement in infrastructure development, emphasizing that quality roads are crucial for economic growth, ease of transportation, and community well-being. He reaffirmed his dedication to supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of life for Nigerians.

Dr. Victor Obong Attah commended Olawepo-Hashim’s foresight and philanthropic efforts, describing the road project as a significant contribution to the socio-economic advancement of the area.

Former Governor Sule Lamido also praised the project, humorously renaming the road Gbenga Residential Area (GRA) and noting that he expected nothing less from a leader of Olawepo-Hashim’s caliber. Lamido further remarked that while Kwara residents may not fully recognize Gbenga’s value, his impact is widely acknowledged at the national level.

Residents of Ifedolapo community, led by their Chairman, Alhaji Gani Adeshina, expressed heartfelt gratitude, highlighting the road’s impact in easing transportation, boosting local businesses, and improving access to essential services.

The newly commissioned 1Km road adds to several micro-level road projects that Olawepo-Hashim has supported over time, linking Excellence Hall to the newly constructed Danialu Awolowo Road.

This initiative further cements Dr. Olawepo-Hashim’s reputation as a leader dedicated to national development and community empowerment.
